NOTES

– The loss was Clearfield’s first since falling to University Prep 36-22 in last year’s District 5/6/8/9 Subregional final.  In the last 58 games the Bison have played, they are 52-6 and will carry a 22-game regular-season winning streak into the start of the 2014 season.  Clearfield has gone 48-5 over the past four years overall with only one loss in the regular season.

– The 44 points allowed to the Bulldogs was the most given up by Clearfield since allowing 55 to Allentown Central Catholic in the 2010 PIAA Quarterfinals.  Berwick also became the first team since ACC to eclipse 300 yards rushing against the Bison.

– Following his performance Friday night, Christian Lezzer will end his career as Clearfield’s all-time leader in rushing attempts (586) and will be second on the all-time lists for rushing yards (4,269), rushing touchdowns (67), total touchdowns (74), yards from scrimmage (4,798), yards of total offense (6,381), and rushing plus passing touchdowns (94) in a career.  His 1,957 yards rushing in 2013 is the third-highest single-season total ever for a Bison and his 33 rushing touchdowns are second only to Dave Richards’ 41 in 2002.

– Tyler Stratton’s 101 yards versus Berwick pushed him over the 2,500 yard mark for his career.  He ends his Bison career with 331 carries for 2,518 yards (6th all-time) and 35 rushing touchdowns (8th all-time).  His 2013 totals include 174 carries for 1,319 yards and 20 rushing touchdowns.

– As a team, Clearfield has now rushed for at least 200 yards in 34 of its past 39 games.  The 2013 Bison averaged a school-record 320.9 rushing yards per game, breaking the previous mark of 289.8 (2002) by more than 30 yards per game.

– This year’s Bison broke several other school records in addition to the rushing yards per game mark.  A full recap of the 2013 season will be posted by this weekend.  Please be sure to check back frequently throughout the offseason as new content will be added to this site regularly.  A well-deserved congratulations goes to the 2013 Clearfield Bison for their record-breaking 2013 campaign.
