*Chuck Clark (1970-1972) had 996 career rushing yards according to game stories from The Progress, but the paper did not list individual player statistics until 1974. Many of Clark’s rushing attempts did not include how many yards he gained in the game story. It is virtually certain that Clark rushed for more than 1,000 yards in his career. In addition, Bill Miller (1937-1939) only had 63 of his carries documented in The Progress during his three-year career, but he still ran for 829 career yards. It is highly probable that Miller also eclipsed 1,000 yards rushing in his career. There are other Bison players who competed before 1974 who may have approached 1,000 career yards, but Clark and Miller had totals that almost guarantee that they reached the mark.
